John Allen grew up under the wide open skies of Central Texas just outside Abilene. His love for building, carpentry and craftsmanship was planted by his grandfather, a retired Air Force mechanic, who lived in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
John spent the greater part of every summer in Oklahoma in his grandpa’s shop – an old barn that had been converted into a true craftsman’s paradise. Filled with tools that could breathe life into any piece of wood, John apprenticed with his grandpa on small and big projects alike. From birdhouses and model planes to cabinets, John learned to fine tune his talent, and passion, for construction and remodeling.
The skills John learned under his grandfather’s watchful eye soon turned to an opportunity to supplement his family’s income through rental properties. Beginning as a student in middle school, John helped remodel his family’s rental properties, which turned his skills into practical, real-world remodeling and maintenance experience.
John has continued to build up his resume over the last decade by managing the maintenance and remodeling projects at assisted living centers, as well as the University of Texas – Austin. Most recently he served as the Facilities Director at one of North Texas’s premier country clubs. Over the course of his career, John’s not only been a hands-on maintenance professional, but supervised large construction teams and managed multi-million dollar remodeling budgets.
With vast experience in every facet of construction, John now brings his practical experience to homeowners across North Texas. Every project John works on is a reflection of his Christian faith and demonstrates the same care and respect he would show his own grandmother.
